AI Landscape Design

Landscape design online

Searching online usually means one thing: I do not want to install anything. Here is what is genuinely available in a browser, what is not, and the honest answer about where our own app sits in that.

Online landscape design splits 2 ways: browser tools that need no install, and apps that do. Neighborbrite is free and unlimited on the web; AI Landscape Design is a phone app at $59.99 a year with 3 free designs. Both regenerate your own photograph rather than a stock garden.

Our own app is one of the two options described here, and it is the one that requires an install. We publish it, so read the comparison with that in mind.

What actually works in a browser today

Neighborbrite is the honest answer to the no-install version of this question. Unlimited renders on the web, no watermark, no card, and no published prices. If a browser is a hard requirement, start there rather than here.

Yardzen runs a free AI teaser tool on the web as a route into its human design service, which starts around $295 per yard and reaches $3,495.

General-purpose image models will also do something yard-shaped from a browser, and they are the tools most likely to move your house, fill in your pool or delete a mature tree, because nothing in them is constrained to preserve a building.

Where our own product sits, plainly

AI Landscape Design is an app. There is no web editor, no browser upload and no desktop build, and pretending otherwise on a page about doing this online would be dishonest.

Visiting landscapedesign.io on a laptop gets you a QR code that sends the page to your phone, which is a real friction if you specifically wanted to work at a desk.

The reason is the photograph. The whole flow assumes you are standing in the yard with a camera, and that reshoot-and-rerun loop is the part that makes the output usable. Skyble Lab chose to ship that loop well on one platform rather than badly on three. Download it on iPhone or on Android if that trade suits you, and use a browser tool if it does not.

What online design services are, which is a different thing

A settled garden with an oval lawn wrapped by deep mixed borders, a gravel path and a stone bench under a mature tree against a clipped hedge
The second product looks like this: a coherent scheme with a plant schedule behind it and a person accountable for whether it works. The picture is the smallest part of what is being bought.

Search results for this phrase mix two products that have almost nothing in common.

The first is software you operate. You upload, you choose, you get a picture back in seconds, and the price is between nothing and $299.99 a year.

The second is a service where a human designer produces a plan for your property remotely. Yardzen runs $295 to $3,495 per yard. Local designers producing a full plan typically charge $2,200 to $6,180, or 5 to 15% of installed cost.

The second includes judgement, a plant schedule and someone accountable for the result. The first includes a picture. Both are legitimate; confusing them at the point of purchase is expensive.

What you should not do online, on any tool

Do not treat a browser render as a permit application, a survey or a quote. No online tool in this category knows your setbacks, your easements or your soil.

Do not upload photographs containing things you would not want stored — house numbers, plates, faces, an open garage. Anything uploaded to any of these services leaves your device.

Do not compare prices without checking what happens to the free output. Watermarks, resolution caps and saved-design limits are where the free tiers diverge hardest, and several of them apply the cap after you have done the work.

Full resolution and no watermark on the free 3 is the line Skyble Lab drew — the software comparison shows where everybody else drew theirs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I design my landscape online for free?

Yes. Neighborbrite renders unlimited designs free in a browser with no watermark and no card. AI Landscape Design gives 3 free at full resolution but requires installing an app on iPhone or Android. Free 2D planners such as Planner 5D and SmartDraw also run in a browser if you want a drawing rather than a picture.

Is there a website that redesigns your yard from a photo?

Neighborbrite does it on the web. Yardzen offers a free AI teaser on its site as an entry point to a paid human design service from $295 per yard. AI Landscape Design does not have a web version at all — it is an iPhone and Android app, and a desktop visit produces a QR code instead.

How much does online landscape design cost?

Software is free to about $299.99 a year: Neighborbrite free on the web, AI Landscape Design $59.99 a year, DreamzAR $199, iScape $299.99. Online services with an actual human designer are a different market entirely, roughly $295 to $3,495 per yard depending on scope.
